Music for studying
Why does Lo-Fi Music Help Studying?
Repetition.
Most of Lo-fi runs on loops. This means that the listener gets the same melody; same chords; same beats. This repetition can calm the listener, allowing them to relax and focus more on the task at hand.
It doesn’t have Lyrics.
Lyrics are great, but when you’re trying to concentrate, they can be distracting. The beauty of Lo-fi music is that it doesn’t have lyrics; so, your thoughts belong to YOU and YOU only.
It’s unpolished.
Lo-fi often has ambient imperfections, also called background noise. This could range from raindrops to a bustling city road. Essentially, this noise allows your brain to realize this music doesn’t demand much concentration — it’s non-threatening auditory information.
My name is Sean. I’m an EDM-turned-Lofi music producer. I run the Lofi Study artist page, where I publish music that help students — like me — study.
